Some days it's easy to stay positive. You focus on a new project, you start your day in prayer, or you look forward to talking with a friend. Other days are more difficult. The pandemic drags on. Normalcy seems like it will never return. You are weary.
Today, let us be encouraged by these words from Isaiah 40:29-31:
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or growweary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and strengthens the powerless. Even youths will faint and beweary, and the young will fall exhausted; but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not beweary, they shall walk and not faint."
In this short passage, we see four promises for all of us today.
1. God is everlasting. God has been here since the beginning, God is here now, and God will be with us always.
2. God does not grow weary.Even when we want to crawl into bed, God isn't tired. God is always working, even now.
3. All of us feel weary sometimes, even "youths." It may seem like everyone else has it all together. They don't. You are not alone.
4.In God we have our strength. No matter how bad things seem, if we put our trust in God we will have our strength renewed. God can give strength to the powerless and power to the faint. You can do this, but only with God's help. Take it one day at a time, continually putting your trust in God.
